In the old house, even the floor seemed to know it was October.
A bat appeared in the center of the pattern. Another hid between the rosettes. Once you noticed the pointed arches and small dark wings, the respectable geometry took on a secret life of its own.
The black-and-ivory print brings that quiet trick to a modern entry, a monochrome kitchen or the space beside a clawfoot tub. Its tile-like design is printed onto a flannel surface, giving a familiar room a little Gothic character without asking the rest of the house to dress up.
