Details
The portraits had been behaving perfectly well until the family went away for the weekend.
By Sunday, the cat had taken the largest frame, the ghost had borrowed the pearls, and the pumpkin still life was looking much too pleased with itself. The empty chair, as usual, refused to explain anything.
Bottle green, oxblood and antique ochre turn the bathroom into a wonderfully eccentric little gallery. Every frame and painted flourish is part of the print. Pair it with ivory towels and warm wood, and give your morning routine an audience with excellent manners and questionable histories.
