Hey Friend,
I was thinking about you today while I was out in the garden. Do you remember those summer trips we used to take? How we’d spend all that time chasing the sun—from the salt-sprayed hills of Sicily to the warm, dusty groves in California? I always hated that feeling after we got home, when the plane landed and it felt like we’d left all that golden warmth behind in another time zone.
But I found something today that made me stop in my tracks.
It’s not just a flag; it feels like someone captured the exact frequency of a perfect July noon and locked it inside a prism. It has this beautiful, fractured mosaic background that reminds me of that old greenhouse we found once—you know the one, where the glass was wavy and time just seemed to… hold its breath.
And the oranges? They aren't just pictures. They have that heavy, 'sun-drunk' weight to them. If you close your eyes, you can almost smell the oil on the rind and feel that sharp, sweet sting of the first cut.
I decided to keep it in my garden because I’m tired of being a tourist of the sun. I want to be a citizen of it. I want you to be one, too.
